It’s true about weather. Every region has their own brand of potentially threatening stuff. You adapt. You laugh about it if you can. You go on. (Rinse and repeat.)

Looks like this was the only one I missed. My notice shows about 20 as though they were posted recently. Wrong! Word Press has been doing some funny things since it attempted to do a major update.

Oh, Sally, that is so foreign to me that it sounds downright frightening. Funny how we all have our different weather issues that we take into stride. I’m glad you folks didn’t end up with frozen fingers!

Sally, my RSS feed has been very unreliable. And it picks on certain people – not all at once. So I apologize…I thought you were taking a rest. I’ll take a look at some of your past posts.

Sounds like your friend is trying you on, like a new pair of shoes, to figure out whether the style looks good on her. I did this with my writing as a teen, adopting the style of my writing heroes. (Once, I even went so far as to copy an author’s handwriting!) It taught me a lot about how word choice and sentence structure influenced the mood and pace of a story. Eventually, my own voice emerged.

Here’s hoping your insecure friend finds her own voice soon.

I have a friend who mimics me. I do not see it as the height of flattery. I want to tell her to find her own fingerprint…why go around like a carbon copy?

Yes, I’m being judgmental. The good side of it? It makes me look at the women I really admire. Often when I’m about to do something, I wonder if this is how they would like it, or want it…

I wouldn’t be surprised. One of the courses Chuck & Val created for me was cream of mushroom soup. It was so good, I insisted on keeping the leftovers, which I first enjoyed as soup, and then used as a sauce. Nom!
